    PRODUCTS

I love shooting and retouching product shots- especially in odd circumstances. The Whittemore House needed shots for Vogue, W, and the web-based SHOPIFY. I took these photos in the back of the Salon during work hours, had to stitch together at least ten Photos before retouching and making web content, etc. In fact, the flame wasn't on any of these- I even had to put that in !

The top row- some of the elements used for initial building.  Bottom- two more creations for web and print use.

    Making Things

I spend a lot of time retouching- commercially "fixing up" shots for Interior, Architectural, Fashion clients. My big love is totally remaking, inventing something - in this case, from an off-the-hip shot I took in Chinatown, a block from my house.....I love capturing a certain spirit, and the many processes involved....

You can see more of the altered Chinatown Photos in the "My Chinatown" section . . .

    Larry Raspanti for W magazine

For this portrait of Salon Owner Larry Raspanti, after the initial retouching of his face, hair, and colthing textures, I decided to bring out the now obscured texture in the wall behind the subject - just enough to carry the eye up, to where the text was possibly to be placed. The desaturated portrait fit perfectly with the article.

    I RETOUCH EVERYTHING !!

Everything I make is retouched! Even my darkroom and Illustration work -I cant seem to leave anything alone !

IN THIS EXAMPLE, AS IT APPEARED IN ‘THE LO-DOWN’ THE LOWER EAST SIDE NEWSPAPER, I HAD SO MUCH TO TAKE OUT, FROM PEOPLE TO VEHICLES....THEN, IT STILL NEEDED SPARK- SO THE FINAL IS CLOSE TO HOW IT  LOOKED- AND FELT - ON THAT BEAUTIFUL, CRISP DAY.
